Summary of an eventful year

Now there are only a few days left of 2018 and SMS Teknik wants to give you a summary of the past year. This year has resulted in many new features and updates, and we would like to share this summary with all our customers, old ones and new ones.

During the first couple of months SMS Teknik just like so many other companies worked to complete all security measures, documentations and agreements before the entry of the GDPR. In connection with the new law and its restrictions, new needs have arisen. Including the requirement to offer the opportunity to unsubscribe from send outs.

Blocklist

In order to make it easier for our customers, we have developed a blocklist feature that automatically blocks send outs from your account to numbers that have been listed in the specific block list. Your customer can send an SMS to the Unsubscribe service and receive a confirmation – an auto-response SMS, for example to inform you that the number now has been unsubscribed from your send outs. You can also manage this list yourself by uploading numbers, or manually entering them. After that, no more SMS will be sent from this account to the numbers in your blocklist.

When the GDPR-storm had passed we could take new steps to improve our already amazing tools.

Labels and URL shortener

In May, our Labels function was launched to allow you to group your recipients by different values. This means that you don’t have to be locked to each group, you can also enter specific values for each recipient. With this feature you can make your send outs personal in a smooth way. More information about our labels can be found on our blog.

At the same time a URL shortener was also launched that gives you the opportunity to share much more information than in a regular SMS.

You can refer to a short URL in your SMS to hide the current web resource, e.g. for promotions, voting or requests etc.

History

After the summer we improved our History page. This has made it easier to search for sent or queued send outs. You can also remove queued SMS now, either the entire send out or go into the specific “send out job” and remove single numbers.

A clear delivery report in the form of a pie chart has also been added.

New website, logotype, better performance and records

November though became the top month of the year with the most happenings.

•  We updated our logotype and released a powerful website.
• We released our new function Repeated SMS, as many of our customers has asked for. With repeated SMS you can just like it sounds send the same SMS as many times as you want. This function saves time and has been very appreciated since the release.
• And when we thought it couldn’t get better, November surprised us by becoming our record month of the most sent SMS amount in one month – all time high!

During the year we have also improved our performance. Our platform and its connections are now upgraded and improved to deliver approximately 10 million SMS per hour to the Swedish operators.

With that said, 2018 has been an incredible year that sums up with many updates, news and most of all improvements.
