BLOCKED SMS – Delayed delivery reports from Telia

2026-07-30 08.15 – Update: Yesterday at 5 PM, we implemented a new fix on our side that we hope will resolve the previous issues.

We have discovered that both Telia NO and Telia SE have, in a limited number of cases, been sending updated delivery reports with a delay of up to one week.

This affects messages that were initially reported as delivered, but which have subsequently received the status ”Rejected”.

Our system currently interprets this updated status as an indication that the number is invalid, which means that the number is automatically placed in quarantine (Blocked) for 24–48 hours. The block is then automatically removed.

The issue has affected only a very small number of customers and numbers. Due to the limited scope of the issue, it was not detected by our monitoring systems.

We have reported the issue to Telia and are also working internally to prevent this type of delayed and updated delivery status from causing incorrect blocks in the future.

The affected blocks will automatically be removed within 24–48 hours.
